Honoring our community by saving lives.  Empowering our community through volunteerism and support, to help inspire everyone to reach their full potential, while enhancing their quality of life.

Our foundation

The members of the South San Francisco Professional Firefighters Union, Local 1507, believe in giving back to the community we serve, both on-duty and off.  We believe in the importance of volunteerism and charity, beyond how we touch the lives of our fellow community members on the emergency scene.  We do this through a variety of activities that enhance the lives of those we protect.

The SSF Firefighters Charitable Foundation was established in 2016 as the charitable arm of the South San Francisco Professional Firefighters Union, Local 1507. Our board is comprised of both active duty firefighters and local community members to develop and steer our activities.

Our mission is to raise funds and provide support for our community’s veterans, ill and burn injured children and our under-privileged, and underserved citizens.

We accomplish our mission through various fundraisers that occur throughout the year, including our Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast, an annual Bocce Ball Tournament and the development and sale of uniquely themed fire department Breast cancer awareness t-shirts.

All profits are donated directly to charitable organizations that have a positive effect on the lives of the citizens we serve in our community and beyond.
